a way to touch and be touched deeply

massage that heals
2022 and its all new

Welcome .....

❥❥Hello and welcome to my site. Little has changed on the outside, but lots on the inside.  The world is on a wild ride. Touch can help to ground, relax, open, connect, BE-HERE-NOW. Enjoy!!❥❥

  TOUCH IS BASIC

Touch is Basic. It communicates directly. It has the power to change.
Humans, animals, all respond to touch and will not thrive without it.Of course we are talking about a loving and skillful touch, Not all touches are created equal. It can be habitual and empty. Cruel and dominating. Seductive and manipulative. Those are not touches we want here.
What I do has been called Rebalancing since 1980. It is an integrative type of bodywork which takes into consideration; body, mind, heart, and soul. During the course of a session the slow and deep non-judgmental touch of the practitioner allows many changes to be initiated in the client. In a successful session, the benefits continue and evolve long after the session itself is over.

The focus, in a very rudimentary way, returns to the person. Not their problems, not ego, not worries and concerns, but the simple human presence. This allows deep relaxation and opening to happen within all the body-mind systems. A sense of wholeness is reached. Not that all problems are solved miraculously, but simply that in the 'connection' all the parts come together as equal partners, communicate with one another, and  move together.

It is separation that creates disease (dis-ease). When a part is out of balance with the whole, or is somehow rejected, pushed away by the whole, a problem is created. The body is always trying to do the best it can, but sometimes misunderstands what is being asked of it. Touch is a powerful reminder  of that state of wholeness which we really are. Healing is a return to that state which is always there, but which we have left.

This style of bodywork, Rebalancing, is the best tool I have found for this type of healing. It is deep, so it touches through the skin, the superficial and deep fascia, muscle, tendon bone and organs. Yet it is slow and non-intrusive, so the body does not defend or close against it. Rather it opens and softens and welcomes the touch.
It is informed, moving with a practical knowledge of what lies below the fingers, and what changes in the body are possible at each layer within.

We use the breath to ground Awareness so that the process is not being 'done to you' but rather you are empowered to be in charge of your own opening. Because you are in charge, because you deeply sense the body in a new way, what opens keeps working long after the session has finished. In your daily life, within one breath, the Awareness can return and you bring healing into your everyday activities. This empowering is very grounding and opening, and makes one want to keep evolving towards wholeness further and further.

A last word about Integration. This is a lifelong work of becoming One. A merging of you and reality, within a world that does not believe in One. a world that favours division and self serving attitudes. In other words, a perfect place to learn the science and art of integration. Of evolving towards Oneness. Becoming whole.

REBALANCING AND ME

I have over 45 years of body therapy experience, which is a drop in the bucket in a discipline that goes back many thousand years. Fads come and go, but a loving and skillful touch has weathered the millenniums.  I am privileged to be one of the originators, in 1980 of a modality of touch-REBALANCING-which brought together western cutting edge technique that are shown to work well with modern man, and ancient eastern teachings that have been transforming individuals since before recorded history. Areas of this website touch upon a variety of  topics that somehow pertain to Bodywork, some of which may be interesting to you.

HOW TO NAVIGATE THIS WEB SITE

Under the banner 'About" is an extremely short history of bodywork through the last 5,000 years of so (this section deserves to be fleshed out a bit more...its coming! Especially missing is a section on the 20th century pioneers responsible for a renaissance in the field of touch.  These include Ida Rolf, Moshe Feldenkrais, Matthias Alexander, John Upledger,Milton Trager, and more.)
Scrolling ⇲
down one takes you to"Nitty Gritty" which is  simple, to the point, illustrated guide to what Rebalancers relate to when addressing your body. (you can recognize that I was the model for some of the cute cartoon illustrations).
Below that is the heading "Me", and you guessed it, its about me, how I arrived to this, and how lucky I am to both be one of the creators of Rebalancing, and still active in it after more than 40 years without being crippled by arthritis, or burning out. Those are both unwelcome outcomes that can be avoided.
Testimonials comes next and over the decades I've had really lot of good ones that have been lost or casually discarded by me. Still, a few good ones remain.

"Services" has to begin with, a simple overview .
"Session info" runs you through what you may expect when you book a session with me, and why there are different options to consider, such as booking a 'series' of sessions that follow a particular 'recipe'.
"Teaching" has a few sweet photos, and minimal information. But yes, I do still teach occasionally , and it is a lot of fun.

Links  leads you to other teachers of bodywork who I like, and to sites that go into more depth about topics I only touch upon. Helpful if you wish to look deeper. Especially in the area of Fascia, so much newness is unfolding right now, and its about time. New science driven, technology based information is arriving daily and its radically changing the way we view the body. It is also proving (and sometimes disproving)what the pioneering geniuses of bodywork from the 20th century intuited and opened up.

"Contact" is self explanatory.

Blog. Yes, I have a blog, and initially I am putting an overflow of information that I have culled from other parts of this website. The information is too good to throw away, so Rocky's blog holds it in bite sized chunks. That helps keep the rest of the website from becoming to wordy and dense.
