Where I know others that know more than me, I have tried to link to their information I like to keep it pretty simple, without being simplistic. When you need to know more, its all out there (or in there), and sometimes you have to dig really deep to find it. When I was starting out, there were only a few good books, and little 'hard' research. Now we are more rich in information, though not necessarily better off for it. When I was starting out, we thought we were golden. Over time, some of that has been shown to be true while the rest has faded away. There is always hype, and fantastic claims, and marketing strategies The newest is only the best when it stands the test of time. And then, after it is shown to be worthy of its claims, it cannot rest on its laurels, but constantly evolve and grow deeper.
This style of body/mind work is called Rebalancing. If the body were not in some sort of balance, we would fall over all the time. Instead, we adapt to what we have been given, including body type, physical and mental development, accidents, and so on. The body always tries to do the best it can. It is the perfect servant at all times, yet we run into all kinds of problems.
We have been led astray by wrong information. Have picked up bad habits at a very early age. We keep changing all the time, but usually at a very slow rate so its hardly noticed. We respond to our 'historical limitations' in a robotic way. Rebalancing brings the light of awareness, along with a physical model of what is a more optimal way of being in your body, and using that body. Once the body understands what is required of it, it tries its best to co-operate, to function in a way that is more in balance with both the physical world, and our own unique inner world.
